BIXI

CONCEPTION / Video production ( Motion design, Casting, shooting, post-production)

BIXI Montréal is the non-profit organization that has been managing the city’s bike-sharing system for almost a decade. Wanting to promote social economy and to strengthen its brand image with Montrealers, BIXI, who is now truly a part of Montreal’s DNA, asked Beauvoir to create a video advertising campaign for its 2022 season. The agency’s production team created two webseries. The first one, “Par nous, pour nous”, showcases BIXI’s social initiatives. The second one, “Les ruelles”, takes you on a tour of Montreal’s hidden gems by way of the lanes and alleys that crisscross the city’s neighborhoods. A total of eight episodes celebrate the organization’s social accomplishments and Montrealers’ strong sense of proprietorship for the BIXI brand.

The first episode of the “Par nous, pour nous” webseries recounts a BIXI seasonal launch, i.e. the day where the fleet of bicycles is again made available to all Montrealers. Indeed, each spring, the arrival of BIXI bicycles signals the return of the beautiful days of freedom where you can zip around the city to your heart’s content. Beauvoir filmed behind the scenes, in mid-April, on the day that BIXI launches a new season after months of hard work. Hop on for the ride, and follow our team during this highly emotional and eventful day in the BIXI universe.

In its three-episode webseries entitled “Par nous, pour nous” (For us, by us) Beauvoir reveals how BIXI and Montreal are one and the same since, through the organization, Montrealers are offering services to Montrealers. The production team met with BIXI users and employees in order to strengthen this innovative non-profit organization’s 100% Montreal brand image.

“Les ruelles” is a five-episode webseries that invites Montrealers to discover their city and neighborhoods as seen through a different lens. Follow Beauvoir’s camera and presenter, Cédric Lemieux, as they ride through unknown or forgotten lanes and alleys of Plateau Mont-Royal, Hochelaga, Rosemont and Villeray, and discover some of the city’s most endearing quirks. While cycling through neighborhoods where BIXI is very popular and others where it’s less in demand, viewers also come to realize that this bicycle-sharing service is indeed offered to all Montrealers, in all of the city’s neighborhoods. Project design, content research and development, and production of the webseries was carried out by Beauvoir.
